TORONTO — Francois-Philippe Champagne, 17³Ô¹ÏÍø’s minister of infrastructure and communities, will deliver the opening keynote address at the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) 26th annual conference Nov. 5.
The two-day conference, which will offer networking and business development opportunities, will take place Nov. 5 and 6 in Toronto.
The event attracts 1,200 senior public and private sector participants from across 17³Ô¹ÏÍø and international decision-makers.
Champagne will discuss the role public-private partnerships can play in the government’s $180-billion Investing in 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Plan to deliver public transit and other key infrastructure projects and drive economic growth, states a release issued by the CCPPP.
Champagne, who was appointed July 18 by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has spent the last few months visiting major federal construction projects across the country and meeting with 17³Ô¹ÏÍø’s infrastructure leaders, adds the release.
Champagne served as 17³Ô¹ÏÍø’s international trade minister and parliamentary secretary to Finance Minister Bill Morneau, during which time he played an instrumental role in developing the 17³Ô¹ÏÍø Infrastructure Bank.
